Welcome to the Home Page of the Wisconsin Insurance Plan (the Plan). This site is designed to assist producers ("insurance agents" or licensed intermediaries) who are applying to the Plan. Here producers can learn about the Plan, quote premiums in our Homeowner Program and our Dwelling Property Program (for non-owner occupied / rehab residences), and complete or print applications. The Wisconsin Insurance Plan is Wisconsin's FAIR Plan or residual property insurer. The Plan was created to provide basic property insurance on certain properties rejected for coverage by other insurers. The Plan is not required to insure all properties that apply for coverage. We suggest you read this website and become familiar with the Plan. Also, we suggest you read our applications and the notices and letters we send to you and your clients. The applications, notices, and letters provide important information. The pages of our website are shown below and on the upper left side of each page. Click on a page for information. If you have any comments, questions, or suggestions concerning our site, please contact us at thewip@execpc.com. Thanks for visiting! NEW APPLICATIONS. We now have applications that can be completed on your personal computer. BINDERS. We do not issue binders and you have NO authority to issue binders. We must receive an application at least 3 business days before a coverage document (Declarations Page) is needed for a loan closing or property purchase. UNDERWRITING DECISIONS. There is a myth that the WIP must insure all properties and insure them in the manner requested. This is NOT correct. The WIP has underwriting standards and can decline to insure or can insure differently than requested. Please DON'T CALL US for an accept/reject or 'should I submit this risk' opinion. We must receive a proper submission for an underwriting decision. We CANNOT accept or reject a risk over the phone. This is a State of Wisconsin rule.
