The Wisconsin Insurance Plan relies on the producer ("insurance agent" or licensed intermediary) to secure the needed information from the applicant and from other sources to properly complete the application.

PRODUCERS, TAKE NOTE

If possible, apply 45 - 60 days before coverage is needed to begin.  Sometimes we need time to underwrite.

Read the application.  It will help you to complete it properly.

Provide all information requested.  Don't skip questions or ignore items in italics.

Sign the application.  The producer signs, not the applicant.

Provide a short narrative to explain situations that are a bit different.  Help us to understand the risk.

We will not call you for information that is missing or is not clear.  Usually, we will reject the application and  write to you and/or the customer for the information needed.  No coverage will be in force.  

We are not required to insure every property submitted.  We are not required to begin coverage as requested.

We are not required to start coverage upon receipt of the submission.  We may decline to begin coverage until we survey the premises, until we receive additional information, or for other reasons.  We underwrite.

Coverage will never begin earlier than the day after both a proper submission with deposit is received in the Plan's office and the risk is deemed acceptable by the Plan for coverage to begin.  Coverage will not be backdated.

You are not an agent of the Plan.  You have no binding authority.  Do not issue a binder or any coverage document.

PRINTING APPLICATIONS

In order to print the applications, you must have Adobe Acrobat Reader.  Use the Adobe PRINT command.  If you do not have this program, click on the Adobe icon below.

If you have problems and the application does not print properly, do not submit it.  Call us at (414) 291-5353 or e-mail us at thewip@execpc.com and we will mail applications to you.
